The Institute for Stem Cell Research (Max Eder group 'Normal and Malignant Mammary Stem Cells' by Dr Christina Scheel) is looking for when a / n

PhD student / in the range normal and cancer stem cells of the breast 2012/1538

Their tasks
- Analysis of the molecular control of stem cell characteristics and plasticity in normal breast epithelium and breast cancer cells
- Investigation of the role of growth factors and signal transduction pathways activated by them
- The use of sophisticated, the latest methods for human adult stem cell isolation, manipulation and culture
- Interaction with our clinical partners at the Institute of Pathology, Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich

Methods:
Their skills
- Degree in Biology or related disciplines
- Working too much scientific interest and motivation on their own responsibility
- Previous experience in FACS, culture, phenotyping, transfection / infection of adherent human / murine cell lines or primary cells, and cloning of retroviral vectors desirable but not mandatory
- Excellent team working
