The Department of Biology and the Center for Plant Molecular Biology (ZMBP) within the Faculty of Science, Eberhard Karls Universitaet Tuebingen, Germany, invite applications for the position (starting October 1, 2013) of Full Professor (W 3) in Developmental Genetics and Cell Biology

The successful candidate pursues an internationally recognized research program in the field of molecular cell biology of plants from a developmental-genetics perspective. Scientific achievements of the applicant must be demonstrated by excellent publications and by a successful record in acquiring external funding. He/she is expected to teach developmental genetics and cell biology. Possible research areas comprise molecular cell biology of plant-microbe symbioses, molecular cell biology of developmental processes, regulation and evolution of membrane traffic, genetic analysis of cytoskeleton and polarity.

As a part of the Tuebingen Center for Plant Molecular Biology (ZMBP) the successful candidate is expected to cooperate closely with other research groups therein. Active contribution to the planned Collaborative Research Centre on 'Molecular mechanisms generating specific outputs in plant processes' is most desirable. We further envisage scientific co-operations with the Tuebingen-based Max-Planck-Institute for Developmental Biology, the Interfaculty Institute of Microbiology and Infection Medicine (IMIT), and the Evolution and Ecology Forum Tuebingen (EvE). Additional information can be obtained from Prof. T. Nuernberger (email: thorsten.nuernberger@zmbp.uni-tuebingen.de).

With a long tradition, the University of Tuebingen is one of the most respected universities in Germany.
