Research Associate / Postdoc Position
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

working on Molecular Modelling and Simulation of
Glycosaminoglycan-Protein Interactions.
The position is within the Collaborative Research Network SFB/Transregio 67 "Functional Biomaterials for Controlling Healing Processes in Bone and Skin - From Material Science to Clinical Application", and it will be available as soon as possible and limited to 4 years. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification.
The BIOTEC is an international and interdisciplinary institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering focused on molecular bioengineering, proteomics, genomics, biophysics, stem cells and
computational biology. The TU Dresden is one out of eleven German
Universities of Excellence.
Tasks: The successful candidate will work on modelling and simulation of glycosaminoglycan-protein systems in close collaboration with
experimental partners in the multidisciplinary and highly collaborative
environment of the scientific Transregio network.
Requirements: The candidate should have a university degree and a
Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in structural and computational
biology/physics/chemistry or a related scientific discipline. The ideal
qualified candidate should be highly motivated and interested in working in the multidisciplinary, international and highly collaborative environment of the Transregio scientific network. The candidate should be able to work independently and also to be a team player. Suitable candidates should have outstanding internationally recognized scientific accomplishments in the area of computational glyco-biology and strong experience with docking methodology and molecular dynamics simulations of proteins and
glycosaminoglycans. Proficiency with AMBER and excellent
communication skills in English will be required.
