Postdoctoral position â Code 1287/2015/2 (Bonn)

The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) is a center of excellence within the Helmholtz Association that performs translational research on Neurodegenerative Diseases. The center includes nine high-performing sites in Berlin, Bonn, Dresden, Göttingen, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock/Greifswald, Tübingen and Witten.
Description: The “Neuronal Networks” group focuses on the physiology and pathophysiology of hippocampal microcircuit function during behavior.
Qualification: We are inviting applications for one postdoctoral position with interest in developing hippocampus-dependent learning and memory paradigms (linear and spherical treadmill, virtual reality), which allow identification of cellular activity patterns during in vivo two-photon imaging and whole-cell patch clamp recordings. Applicants (f/m) familiar with animal behavior tests, including learning and memory paradigms and experience with (in-vivo) patch-clamp physiology and/or cellular imaging are encouraged to apply. Experience in the analysis of complex electrophysiological and imaging data is an advantage (Matlab, Igor Pro).
For further information, please contact Prof. Stefan Remy, Neuronal Networks Group, DZNE Bonn (Stefan.Remy@dzne.de). Employment, payment and social benefits are determined by the Public Sector Collective Agreement (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst – TvöD). The position is time limited to one year. Job location is Bonn, Germany.
