The Leibniz Institute for Molecular Pharmacology (FMP) is an institute of the Research Association Berlin eV (FVB). FVB is the carrier of eight non-university research institutes in Berlin, funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and the countries of the Community. The research institutes are members of the Leibniz Association.
As part of a project sponsored by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in the laboratory of Dr. Gerd Krause / s Student / urgently needed in the organization of a diploma or master thesis.
Responsibilities:
Thyroid hormones (SDHs) play an essential role in the development of the human brain during growth. Their cellular uptake via specific membrane-bound transport proteins.
To get a better understanding of the molecular basis of SDH transport, as part of the project the transport of various SDHs across the plasma membrane are characterized cell biology. Here are transported SDHs identified and their properties and specificities are compared.
For this the following methods are used: Cloning of plasmid DNA site-directed mutagenesis, cell culture, transfection, in vitro transcription, RNA microinjection, protein expression and isolation, Dimerisierungsstudien the transport proteins, Western blot, cell based SDH transport studies.
A rebate is available upon request.
Prerequisites:
University degree in one of the following subjects: biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related field, a strong interest in cell biological and biochemical problems and the desire for teamwork.
