Full-Time and Half-Time research assistants for mouse handling and Flow Cytometry (Salzburg, Austria)

You are invited to apply for 2 half-time and 1 full-time research assistant (BMA/biologist) positions in the Laboratory for Immunological and Molecular Cancer Research (LIMCR) located in the University Hospital Salzburg. The focus of the LIMCR is application-oriented research on chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in the human as well as the murine system. Divided into 3 working groups we address different aspects of CLL cell biology including CLL cell trafficking and homing, interactions with the microenvironment (contribution of T-cells, stroma cells, macrophages and monocytes) and the cellular balance between apoptosis and proliferation. The goal of these approaches is to improve current therapy concepts and to develop novel treatment strategies. For these studies we are using both, primary human CLL cells, as well as murine models and are currently searching for highly motivated applicants that strengthen our team:

Position 1: Full-Time research assistant (mouse handling)
We offer a full-time (40h/week) research assistant (BMA/biologist) position as maternity leave cover that can be guaranteed for at least 1 1/2 years with the opportunity to extend the contract afterwards. The working profile comprises the maintenance of our mouse facility including breeding, genotyping and injection of mice on a regular but flexible basis, the dissection of mice, the process of routine measurements of organs and tissues by flow cytometry, mouse genotyping (PCR) and documentation of our murine tumor biobank. Candidates should have experience in cell biology and in handling of mice. It is necessary to have a driving license and a private car.

Position 2: Half-Time research assistant (mouse handling)
A Half-Time (20h/week) research assistant (BMA/biologist) position is funded by the FWF (Austrian Science Fund) and can be guaranteed for at least 3 years. An opportunity to increase working hours and responsibilities may exist in the future. Position 3: Half-Time research assistant (Flow Cytometry)
We are looking for a Half-Time (20h/week) research assistant (BMA/biologist) for providing core support for FACS sorting. An opportunity to increase working hours and responsibilities may exist in the future. The successful candidate will help to operate and maintain the facility's sorter and analyzer machines for several projects in all three research groups and provide expert consultation for project/experiment planning. Therefore, candidates should have a strong expertise in flow cytometry, experience in cell biology and cell culture. We are seeking for candidates with strong organizational skills and the ability for excellent coordination and communication.

We would be pleased to receive your application including your complete CV, a letter of interest and a letter of recommendation. Please send your application by email to Brigitte Meiswinkel (b.meiswinkel@salk.at).
