PhD Position in Development and Function of Neural Circuits (Berlin, Germany)

A PhD position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Niccolò Zampieri at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine.
The laboratory focuses on the developmental mechanisms controlling neural circuit assembly and function, with a particular emphasis on how cell-cell adhesive interactions influence neuronal position and circuit assembly (Demireva et al., Cell 2011). We use a combination of molecular, genetic, and anatomical tracing techniques to study development of motor circuits in the mouse spinal cord (Zampieri et al., Neuron 2014). A background in developmental neurobiology is preferred but motivated and enthusiastic individuals from any scientific background are strongly encouraged to apply before December 1st , 2014.
The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (https://www.mdc-berlin.de/en) offers a highly international and stimulating research environment with state-of-the-art equipment, core facilities for genomics, proteomics and microscopy. The Institute is located in Berlin, one of the most culturally diverse and vibrant capitals in Europe. English is the working language in the Institute.
