Postdoctoral Fellow - Cell Sciences & Technology (Pre-Pivotal and Pivotal Drug Substance Process Development): Cambridge, MA & Thousand Oaks, CA, MA, United States

The Amgen Postdoctoral Program is committed to providing future scientists with an enriching environment to inspire innovation that will contribute to the development of human therapeutics.

This role will work in the Cell Sciences & Technology group within Amgen’s Pre-Pivotal and Pivotal Drug Substance Process Development organization. The position will work in a dynamic team environment to understand the connections between mammalian cell culture bioreactor process factors, cellular status patterns, and product profiles by utilizing state-of-art systems biology data integrating and modeling techniques.

The position will design and support a project that combines both data-driven and mechanism-driven modeling techniques to identify novel engineering targets/strategies for cell culture productivity improvement and product quality control in process development.

This project will occur in two phases in two locations: 1) multi-omics (transcript-, prote-, metabol-, and flux-omics) data collection and integration for current bioreactor projects (AMA: Cambridge, MA) and 2) data-driven, mechanism-based in-silico modeling to identify targets for productivity improvement and product quality control (ATO: Thousand Oaks, CA). The assignment length is expected to be 2-3 years.

PhD at the time of appointment

Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Life Sciences or Engineering
Experience with cell culture/fermentation in an academic and/or pharmaceutical research setting
