Postdoctoral Research Scientist (Cancer Immunotherapy): Cambridge, United Kingdom

Postdoctoral Research Scientist (Cancer immunotherapy)
Starting salary is up to £32,000 per annum
(depending on experience)

The Babraham Institute is a charity which is world renowned for its research in life sciences to enhance lives and improve wellbeing.

We wish to recruit a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work towards development of novel immunostimulatory small molecule therapies that function by activating T cell responses against cancer.

The laboratory utilises mouse genetics, cellular immunology and molecular biology to understand the molecular mechanisms that control the development and function of T cells in inflammation and cancer [2-3]. This project aims to identify new small molecule therapies that will disrupt deleterious immunosuppression in cancer. Experience of cellular immunology, molecular biology and protein biochemistry are highly desirable.

Applicants will have a PhD in a Biological Science and experience of cellular immunology, molecular biology, cell culture and protein biochemistry. Ideally, applicants will also have experience in Flow-cytometry and of working with mouse models.

The successful applicant will join the laboratory of Dr Rahul Roychoudhuri (http://www.babraham.ac.uk/our-research/lymphocyte/rahul-roychoudhuri) within the Lymphocyte Signalling and Development ISP and will benefit from an existing on-campus collaboration with Cancer Research Technology.

For more information on the work of the Roychoudhuri group, please visit: http://www.babraham.ac.uk/our-research/lymphocyte/rahul-roychoudhuri. Informal enquiries may be made to rahul.roychoudhuri@babraham.ac.uk.

Further information about the Institute can be found on our website. Application forms and further details are available electronically (www.babraham.ac.uk), or e-mail: HR@babraham.ac.uk.

On applying please quote reference RR-TCELL-LTC.

Closing date for completed applications is Sunday, 4 September 2016.
