In the Division for “Systematic Proteome Research & Bioanalytics” within the Institute for Experimental Medicine, at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel, Germany, a position for a

PostDoc (m/f)

(mass spectrometry / protein analytics / proteomics )

is available from 01. April 2013.

The research of the group is focused on the development of novel methods for protein- and proteome analytics (identification, quantification, posttranslational modifications, mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography) and the application of these methods on biomedical projects within the Cluster of Excellence „Inflammation@Interfaces“.

The project will deal with the development and application of LC-MS based methods for quantitative proteomics in human cell cultures, and the analysis of covalent protein modifications.

A very strong (!!) theoretical and practical background in the field of biologically oriented mass spectrometry (MALDI and/or ESI MS) coupled to liquid chromatography and quantitative proteomics is required.

Applicants are expected to be highly motivated, reliable and interested to work in an interdisciplinary environment in a young team. Participation in the preparation of an application for an external research grant aiming for prolonging the project is expected.

The position is available from 01. April 2013, funding is guaranteed for 2 years. Prolonging of the contract over this time is strongly envisaged. Funding is based on German TV-L E13.

Women are especially encouraged to apply. Handicapped people will be preferentially considered in case of equivalent qualifications.
