A position is currently available in the group of Prof. Dr. Markus Sperandio at the Walter Brendel Center for Experimental Medicine, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, München, to study the role of Src family kinases in leukocyte recruitment during inflammation. The project is part of an EU-FP7 initiative called Tarkinaid (www.eumbrella.org/tarkinaid). Additional topics in the lab include the contribution of integrins and associated proteins on leukocyte recruitment (Blood 2009 and 2010, Nature Med 2009) and the role of glycosylation on leukocyte adhesion (Blood 2012, J Exp Med 2008). A variety of experimental in vivo as well as in vitro approaches are employed in our lab including different models of intravital microscopy, ex vivo and in vitro flow chamber assays, immunostainings, and FACS.

The candidate will be expected to present research findings at scientific conferences, compose manuscripts, and assist in the experimental design of the studies. The position will initially be available for two years with the option of extension.
