The International Research Training Group (IRTG) “Molecular Pathogenesis of Male Reproductive Disorders” (Internationales Graduiertenkolleg GRK 1871), funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), offers from 15.05.2013

1 Post-doctoral position

The IRTG is located at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen (JLU) and Monash University , Melbourne, Australia. Advertised position will commence at JLU Giessen.

We offer a challenging scientific co-operative programme flanked with an extended stay in the international partner laboratory.

The duration of the offered position (TVöD E 13/2) is around three years (extension possible).

1 Post – doctoral project is offered in the following group:

Project P9 _(JLU: A. Meinhardt, T. Chakraborty, R. Middendorff – MU: M. Hedger, D. de Kretser, K. Loveland)_ Roles of activin and follistatin in obstruction and tissue repair following epididymitis – mechanisms for preserving fertility.

Prerequisite:
You have completed a scientific university degree (M.Sc. or diploma) in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, veterinary medicine or a related field in the area of life sciences and are interested in project- and team-oriented work in a young research group. A completed science PhD is desirable. Experiences with cell biological, immunological, molecular biological and biochemical techniques are necessary. Moreover, the willingness to work with experimental animals is required (Felasa B or C certificate is advantageous). Ability for independent research and development of the project as well as personal initiative, creativity, teamwork and good English and German language skills are expected.
