Patient Specific iPS Cells for Studying Leukemia

The position is a part-time position (19,25 h/w ) and project-related and we offer a contract for 3 years. The salary is according to German public service salary scale level TV-L 13. The successful candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree.

The position is on disease modeling of leukemia with patient specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells). The project is embedded in the research consortium “Mesenchymal Interactions and Fibrogenic Signalling in Cancer Development: Molecular Mechanisms in Solid and Hematologic Neoplasma” funded by the Interdisciplinary Center for Clinical Research (IZKF) Aachen.

The successful applicant will work in an international team and apply state-of-the-art and advanced techniques of cellular reprogramming and induction of pluripotency in human cells, genome editing by CRISPR/cas, stem cell specification and differentiation. Working language is English.

The applicants should have a Master degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedicine or biotechnology or related life sciences. Experience in standard techniques of cell biology, tissue culture and molecular cloning are required. Willingness for team work and the ability to work independently are also required.
