UCL Research Department of Cell and Developmental Biology

Research Associate: Developmental Biologist (Twins project)

The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 – £34,165 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

We wish to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a research project awarded by the European Research Council (ERC) to Professor Claudio Stern FRS. The project aims to elucidate the molecular, genetic and embryological mechanisms controlling embryo polarity and those responsible for twinning in higher vertebrates. The project is multi-disciplinary and involves molecular and embryological work on chick embryos as well as analysis of human and other mammalian genomes. The successful candidate will assist in the design and running of experimental procedures, analysing and writing up the results, and will be expected to be in a position to publish in prestigious journals.

The post is funded for 3 years in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have a PhD (or be planning to submit their PhD thesis soon) with good practical experience in developmental biology and molecular biology, ideally with a high level of proficiency in embryology.
