Postdoctoral Research Associate in microRNA immunobiology : York, United Kingdom

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral research associate to join the microRNA biology group lead by Dr Lagos in the Centre for Immunology and Infection. You will be involved in a research project funded by the Medical Research Council to study the role of microRNAs in in vivo infection model systems. The goal of the project is to understand how an individual microRNA concurrently regulates the function of multiple cell-types, during an immune response. You should have research experience with in vivo studies in immunology and/or microRNA biology.

You will have a PhD in immunology, biomedical research or equivalent, with a focus on studying in vivo disease models. It is expected that you will have a strong interest in microRNA biology and experience with a wide range of tools and techniques such as confocal microscopy, gene knockout models, flow cytometry, and gene expression analysis.

The post is fixed term for a period of up to three years. Interviews will take place in February and the position is expected to start by March/April 2014.

Informal inquiries are encouraged and may be made to Dr Dimitris Lagos (dimitris.lagos@york.ac.uk)
