PhD Position for the study of peroxisomal membrane protein import (Tuebingen)

We are seeking for highly motivated PhD students holding a diploma or master degree in biochemistry, chemistry or biology.
Our group is interested in cell biochemistry and mainly focusses on the biogenesis of peroxisomes in higher eukaryotes. This study aims to analyze the import of proteins into the peroxisomal membrane by characterizing the import machinery by structural approches and will include biophysical methods to analyze the integration of proteins into the lipid bilayer. We have strong collaborations with the group of structural biology  and of membrane biophysics at our institute and faculty. A background in structural biochemistry and in fluorescence imaging techniques including physical biochemistry will be beneficial.
